Improvement in attendance figures

School attendance in Derbyshire is above the national average and improving according to recently released figures.

Department for Education figures show primary school total absence for the county for 2010/2011 is 4.8per cent, compared to the national average of five per cent.

And the figure for secondary school total absence across the county is down for the sixth year running at 6.3 per cent compared to the national figure of 6.5per cent.
