A rowdy Alfreton Town fan has been handed a three-year football banning order after being drunk and disorderly at a game in November.

Kieran Wragg, 23, of Long Meadow Road, Alfreton, was arrested at the Impact Arena during a game between Alfreton Town and Halifax Town.

He appeared before magistrates in Chesterfield on Friday, January 31, and pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

Wragg was ordered to pay fines and costs totalling £318 and was also barred from any pubs, off licences or any premises in Alfreton that sells alcohol six hours before and four hours after an Alfreton Town fixture.

He is also not allowed within 500 yards of the Impact Arena when the club plays home games.

Football Intelligence Officer for Alfreton PC Roger Brown, said: “These conditions are quite unusual but it shows the lengths the police and local football clubs will go to in order to ensure the safety of responsible fans.”

Breach of an order is a criminal offence.
