A Ripley church is celebrating a year of hosting helpful drop in days in the town.
All Saints Church Ripley, started Open Door in 2012, running every Friday morning from 9.30am to noon.
The drop-ins see volunteers from the church offering their best advice on everything from CV writing to form filling and is regularly attended by members of agencies such as Futures Homescape and the Citizens Advice Bureau, who are on hand to share their expertise. It is also home to a food bank, run in association with the Salvation Army.
Organiser Marian Brookes said: “It’s fantastic for the church to be open serving the community of Ripley, offering a warm welcome and safe place for everyone to relax over coffee and cake for just 50p. Many people have found new friendships as well as a new coffee venue!”
