An animal charity is appealing for information after a dog was found tied to a tree.
The Akita cross breed was discovered by a passer-by in Langer Lane, Chesterfield, on February 8.
The frightened animal seemed aggressive at first, however her behaviour changed after members of the RSPCA came to collect her.
She is now being cared for at the RSPCA animal shelter in Chesterfield and has been called ‘Grace’.
She is described as being about two to three years old with light tan patches on her body and two ‘wall eyes’.
Anyone with information is urged to call the RSPCA on 0300 1234 999.
