a SOUTH Normanton care home marked Dignity Action Day with the release of 100 yellow ballons.
The campaign, which aims to ensure people in care are treated as individuals, was celebrated on February 1, at Normanton Lodge, Mansfield Road, with a party. Students from nearby Frederick Gent School carried out beauty treatments and helped with the catering.
Cllr Marlene Bennet arrived to release the yellow balloons bearing tags as part of a competition. Manager Penny McGuinness said: “Members of the public can ring the home and say where it was found. The person who finds the furthest balloon will receive a small gift. We will plot them on a map.”
The day ended with a raffle and a buffet.
