FOOD and drink businesses are being urged to enter the prestigious Derbyshire Food and Drink Awards 2011, run by Derbyshire County Council.
The tenth annual awards evening – title sponsored by Greenhalgh Chartered Accountants and Business Advisors – will be held at Thornbridge Hall, Ashford-in-the-Water, on Wednesday, November 2.
Entries are invited from catering businesses or services which use locally sourced food and promote it on their menus.
Councillor Kevin Parkinson, Derbyshire County Council Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “There are some excellent restaurants, pubs and coffee houses across the county – many of which make the most of tasty local produce.
“Our awards have gone from strength-to-strength over the last decade and we’re proud to again be showcasing Derbyshire’s finest.”
Categories for this year’s awards are: Derbyshire Restaurant of the Year; Derbyshire Gastro Pub of the Year; Derbyshire Traditional Pub of the Year; Derbyshire Coffee House/Tearoom of the Year; Derbyshire’s Best International Restaurant; Derbyshire Restaurant with an Attraction; Derbyshire Breakfast of the Year 2011; Derbyshire Tea Room/Café of the Year; Derbyshire Local Food Hero 2011; Venues are judged on a number of criteria including the quality of food and drink, customer service and use of county produce with acknowledgement of it on menus.
