VOLUNTEERS will meet the Mayor of Broxtowe this weekend to mark the declaration of Colliers Wood as one of three new local nature reserves.
Colliers Wood’s new status brings the total number of sites declared nature reserves by the council this year to three, along with Watnall Green and Watnall Spinney.
There are 13 local nature reserves in the borough, covering a total of 105 hectares.
Colliers Wood has a diverse range of habitats, including wetlands, grasslands and young woodland.
The site has been awarded a Green Flag for the last four years as a quality green space.
