Salons to be offered crime posters

An investigation has been launched into a burglary at a hairdresser’s in Ripley.

The Hair Hub on Nottingham Road, Ripley, was targeted sometime between Saturday, November 2 and Monday, November 4, However nothing was stolen.

Around the same time cash was taken from a Belper firm, Alley Barbers, on Midland View in the town overnight between Monday, November 4 and Tuesday, November 5.

Police are now offering posters for salons to put in their window to show they do not keep cash on the premises overnight.

Sgt. Dave Harrison, of the Amber Valley Community Safety Partnership, also said: “We advise businesses to move any tip boxes from view, to have a limited number of display items and to put signs up to say they are taking orders for items.”

Posters can be collected from the Ripley Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team office at Ripley Town Hall, Market Place.
