Man vandalised cars after row with girlfriend

AN Alfreton man smashed wing mirrors on four cars following a row with his then girlfriend, a court has been told.

Police went to Spring Road, Riddings, on August 27 and saw Andrew Stone surrounded by angry local residents.

David Horne, prosecuting, told Chesterfield magistrates that he was confronted by a vehicle owner and claimed someone else was responsible for the damage.

He then turned abusive and told the motorist to go back where he came from.

Stone, 24, of Shakespeare Drive, admitted causing a total of £600 damage to two vehicles.

Magistrates adjourned sentence for probation service reports.

Jessica Rogers, for Stone, told magistrates : “He is very ashamed of his actions and he deeply regrets it. “

She added: “He is no longer with that partner as he recognises it was a destructive relationship.”
