Man arrested on suspicion of two offences after police recover stolen motorbike in Derbyshire village

A man was arrested in a Derbyshire village after a stolen motorbike was discovered by officers.

Plain clothed officers were patrolling hotspot areas of Heanor and Langley Mill as part of Operation Shango, which aims to target anti social behaviour.

A Langley Mill Safer Neighbourhood Team spokesperson said: “During the patrol, a suspicious moped was sighted on Regent Street, Langley Mill – with further checks showing the bike as being stolen from the Hucknall area in February.

“A 21-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of theft of motor vehicle and possession of class A drugs. He has since been bailed pending further enquiries.”
