Information appeal after Langley Mill assault

Detectives in Langley Mill are re-appealing for information about a robbery in which a 74-year-old woman had her handbag stolen as she got out of her car.

The robbery took place at around 9pm on Monday, November 26 as the victim parked her car on Turner Avenue, Langley Mill.

She was approached by a man who grabbed her handbag which was in her left hand. The woman fell to the floor and suffered minor injuries.

The offender then ran off with the woman’s handbag in the direction of Andrews Drive. The bag was a shiny brown colour, around 16 inches in length and six inches wide with two short handles.

The offender is described as white, around 5ft 7in wearing a dark coat with the hood up and a black scarf over his mouth.

Police would like to speak to anyone who saw the incident or has since seen the handbag discarded anywhere in the local area.
