A Heanor man appeared in front of magistrates in Derby on Monday charged with producing cannabis from a house on Bestwick Avenue in the town.
Adrian Calladine, 32, spoke to confirm his name and address wearing a salmon coloured polo shirt and denim shorts.
He entered no plea and was given unconditional bail until September 27, when he is due to appear at Derby Crown Court.
The charges come after the Heanor house was searched by police on January 20. A total 22 cannabis plants were found growing there with a street value of more than £6,000.
