A MAN charged with causing the unlawful death of Ripley man Richard Peake has appeared at Nottingham Crown Court.
Darren Weilowski, 40, spoke only to confirm his name at the preliminary hearing on Friday.
He is accused of the alleged unlawful killing of 36-year-old Mr Peake, of Laurel Avenue in the town on Tuesday, September 27. Mr Peake’s body was discovered in a Derby Road flat following a drugs overdose.
Wielowski entered no plea at the hearing and was granted bail on condition he does not contact prosecution witnesses or the deceased’s family. He is due to return to the court for a plea and case management hearing on May 4.
An inquest into Mr Peake’s death was opened in Chesterfield in September and adjourned to a date to be fixed.
