Car crash men arrested

Police have arrested four men on suspicion of going equipped to steal after they were seen parked outside shops in Somercotes.

At around 1.45pm on Wednesday, November 2, a member of the public called police to report that a group of men were in an Audi in the Coral bookmakers area of Nottingham Road. Officers arrived to speak to the men but the car drove off, colliding with another car. Police searched the Audi and found a crowbar and a ski mask inside. The 25-year-old driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop at the scene of a collision and going equipped to steal.

Police arrested three men, believed to have been in the car at the time of the report. They are aged 19, 21 and 27 and were all arrested on suspicion of going equipped. The Audi was seized for examination. The four, all from Derby, were released on bail pending further inquiries.
