Burglars raid two Ripley houses

BURGLARS smashed a back door window to get into a house to steal gold jewellery in the daytime.

The value of goods stolen at the house on Warmwells Lane in Ripley was not known, said police.

A force spokesman said the incident occurred between 8.20am and 4.10pm on Tuesday, October 4, and is appealing for witnesses.

On the same day in a separate incident, thieves forced open the back door of a house on Porterhouse Road in Ripley, taking an unknown amount of cash and cigarettes between 10.30am and 11am. If you have any information about either crime, call Derbyshire Constabulary on 0345 123 33 33.
