Firefighters from three stations were called to a building fire in Pinxton on Monday afternoon.
The alarm was raised at 4.10pm on South Shields Avenue and crews from Alfreton and Ashfield attended, along with the aerial ladder platform and pump from Chesterfield.
It is believed the fire started in a skip then spread to a building which measured 10m by 30m.
One main jet and one hose reel jet were used and one member of the crew wore breathing apparatus.
Police controlled traffic and cooling jets were put in place because cylinders were found in the building.
