Police are appealing for information after the brake cables on two cars were cut in Heanor.
A Seat Leon and a Vauxhall Zafira, parked on Lockton Avenue, were damaged sometime overnight between Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31.
One of the drivers reported it to police after breaking down a short distance away. A similar incident was reported to police in June on Stainsby Avenue, but it is not known if they are linked.
PC Paul Bower said: “Fortunately no one was hurt by this reckless behaviour, but the consequences could have potentially been fatal.”
Anyone with information should call 101.
