Toddlers, babies and pre-schoolers got all dressed up for Hallowe’en at musical sessions in Ripley.

Spiders, ghosts, pumpkins and skeletons took over the fun at the Twistin Tots music classes for under fives.

Children were invited to dress up with the chance of winning a prize.

They danced and bounced to a variety of Hallowe’en songs, including Five Fat and Hairy Bats, Mary Had a Little Spider and There’s a Hole in my Cauldron.

Winners of the fancy dress competition were 15-month-old Noah Taylor, Joel Lane, one, Evie McPherson-Davis, one, and Felix, 1.

Other winners included Leo Bates, 3, Matthew Scaife, 3, both dressed as Frankenstein’s monster, and Emma Scaife, 4, who dressed as a witch.

Group leader Jacqui Davis also dressed up as a witch for the day.

She said: “Most of the children dressed up and were awarded chocolates for their efforts if they weren’t a prize winner.

“It was great to see the children getting into the spirit of things for Hallowe’en and we had such a variety of costumes!

“All the children looked fantastic and it was very hard to choose a winner, but the ones who received the prizes really stood out.”

Noah received a Twistin Tots t-shirt all the other children won books.

Twistin’ Tots classes have been running in Ripley for seven years.

Classes aim to promote learning, co-ordination and movement in young children.

Jacqui said: “Most use simple actions that children can join in with and there are also a variety of props used to assist children’s learning development and motor skills.”

Classes are suitable from birth to aged five. Classes run in term time in Ripley on Fridays at 9.30am and 11am at Planet Happy, Heage Road Industrial Estate, Ripley.

Twistin Tikes was launched in January 2015 and is a more advanced class with more instruction for ages three to five, helping to prepare them for school.

These classes also run in Ripley at Planet Happy from 1.30pm until 2.30pm.

Entrance to all classes at Planet Happy includes a free play in the play centre afterwards.
