Council blasts letter asking for housing sites

EASTWOOD Town Council blasted a letter asking them to suggest sites for housing development in the town, saying there had already been enough.

Broxtowe Borough Council already has a list of provisional sites where developments could go in Eastwood, and has now written to the town council asking councillors to suggest a few more.

Cllr Brian Griffin said: “I think we have had more than enough and if they think I am going to suggest that they build on my backyard they’ve got another thing coming.

“I think they’ve got a gall to be honest. It’s crazy.”

Cllr Sue Bagshaw said they already had ‘more than they should’ on the list of suggested sites.

A Broxtowe spokesman said letters had been sent to all members of the public asking for ideas, as part of a consultation exercise.
