Consultation on planned youth cuts

A CONSULTATION about a plan to axe youth activities in Derbyshire begins this week.

Derbyshire County Council is running a ten-week consultation to ask local people, users and staff to give their views. Nearly one third of 13-to-19-year-olds use the clubs and activities regularly, but the council says it costs £1.2 million a year to pay the 157 part-time youth workers and £700,000 to run buildings.

To take part in the consultation visit www.derbyshire.gov.uk/youthservice2012 or get a paper copy of the questionnaire by calling 01629 535700 or email bish.sharif@derbyshire.gov.uk

It at midnight on March 18.
