Planning committee members are set to decide on a second Peveril Homes housing bid in the Codnor area on Monday, May 13.
The Belper company wants to build 79 homes less than a mile away from its controversial proposed development at Codnor Common. If approved it will swell the village population by an estimated 225 people.
The latest plan has been recommended for approval by Amber Valley Borough Council officers, providing developers meet with nearly 30 conditions. A village green application has been lodged on the site - though planning board councillors have been advised to treat it as a ‘separate matter’.
Protests are expected outside Ripley Town Hall on Monday. Campaign group Amber Valley SOS has announced it plans to meet outside the planning committee meeting chamber on Market Place, Ripley, at 6.15pm.
