AN environmental charity in Langley Mill is offering young people places on courses designed to improve employability.
Groundwork Derby & Derbyshire is running the free horticultural training and work experience courses for people aged 16-19 who are not in employment, education, or training.
Organisers hope the sessions, at the charity’s Langley Mill base, will help teenagers get jobs.
Teenagers will be taught garden maintenance skills as well as how to write a CV and prepare for a job interview.
The 14-week courses will each take up 28 hours a week, spread over four days.
Participants will receive free boots, hi-vis vests, gloves and trousers and may be eligible for travel expenses on buses from Ripley, Heanor and Belper.
