FRIENDS of a much loved 17-year-old who died tragically in a car accident are this week holding a charity concert in his honour.

Former Ripley Mill Hill School pupil, Chris Jenner, died five years ago in a car collision in Hucknall during the early hours of Monday, August 21, 2006.

Teachers said the music loving teenager, from Nottingham Road, Codnor, was on the verge of a very promising career.

This Saturday more than 200 of the popular youngster’s school pals will fill Marehay miners’ Welfare on Derby road in the village for a memorial concert. His proud twin sisters, Kim and Ruth, both 19, from Nottingham Road, Codnor helped to organise. Kim said: “Chris was just cool, he was lovely and this event is just really nice to see everyone get together five years after and still be thinking about him.”

Sister Ruth said: “We all love and miss him so much still.”

Chris’s former band mates, now playing under the name Lick Squid will headline.
