A Matlock-based charity has made job cuts as part of a spending review.
Twelve employees working out of the Youth Hostel Association (YHA), in Dimple Road, have faced the chop - the majority of them from the marketing, sales, finance and IT departments.
Duncan Simpson, head of corporate affairs, said: “Some of these jobs were people who worked out in the field.
“It’s pretty sad news really – I am sympathetic.”
He said over the past few years the YHA has closed down some of its hostels, meaning fewer staff were needed.
“It’s very much a part of what we had planned to do in terms of reducing central service costs,” Mr Simpson said.
