A JUBILEE committee has been formed in Waingroves to organise a four day celebration of the Queen’s 60th year on the throne.
Members of various groups in the village are planning activities from Friday, June 1, through until Monday, June 4th.
On June 1 the children of the village primary school, pre-school and church stay and play group are set to have a picnic at Waingroves Primary School.
On the Saturday the Thorn Tree pub, on Church Street, is to hold a mini beer festival with live music.
Sunday could see a thanksgiving service at Waingroves Church followed by a Jubilee lunch. And the long weekend is set to culminate with a party at the village community centre, on Church Street, on Monday, featuring craft workshops, games, a barbecue and live bands.
