A car wash owner has organised another charity event as a tribute to his mum’s battle with a rare tumour.

Hydro Hand Car Wash will hold its second wash and fun day to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Aled Pegg, 28, owner of the car wash on Butterley Hill,
Ripley, said his mum was the inspiration behind organising his second charity event this year.

The 28-year-old said: “One in three people suffer from this awful disease. Watching my mum suffer with her tumour makes this event extremely personal to me.”

“Even if you don’t need your car cleaning we are
also providing entertainment and refreshments to make it a family day out,” he added.

Mr Pegg’s mother, Helen, was diagnosed with aggressive angiomyxoma in 2005, a rare type of tissue tumour. She is currently undergoing hormone treatment in a bid to shrink the tumour in her pelvis.

The event will take place from 8.30am to 6pm on
Sunday, September 21, and will include a cake sale, games and a bouncy castle.
