Car’s gas cylinders cooled in Wessington blaze fear

FIREFIGHTERS from Alfreton and Crich were called to a car fire in Wessington on Friday.

The incident happened at 7.15pm on the A615 where an LPG conversion vehicle was well-alight.

Firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used one main line to put the fire out.

Two ground monitors were used to cool the cylinders and a thermal imaging camera to check their temperature. Firefighters left the scene at 8.40pm.

Firefighters from Alfreton were called to a car fire at 11.50pm on Monday in Newton.

Crews used one hose reel jet and foam to extinguish the flames on Alfreton Road and left the scene at 12.20am.

Firefighters from Alfreton were called to Ripley at 11.10pm on Saturday.

Crews used beaters to extinguish the flames on a bonfire on waste ground at Lowes Hill and left the scene at 11.45pm.

Firefighters from Ripley were also called to a fence fire at 8.35pm on Saturday in Strelley Avenue.
