Cakes, a cuppa and plenty of cats

Tea, cake and kittens are to be the order of the day at an event at Woodland Nook Cat Rescue in Swanwick on Saturday, June 22.

The shelter, run by Ripley and Heanor News New Year Honours winner Jane Lynegar is to be open from 11am until 2pm for a tea fund-raising tea party to help care for the cats living there.

Jane said: “Woodland Nook Cat Rescue is not made up of cages. The cats enjoy their own bungalow with TV lounge, bedroom and fully fitted galley kitchen!”
