A Buxton student has swapped selling pies for fine dining, as he’s been given a job as chef de rang at the five-star Gleneagles Hotel in Scotland.

Daniel Harrison, who studied hospitality at Buxton and Leek College, began his career selling snacks at Stoke-on-Trent’s Britannia stadium.

The 20-year-old, of Stoke, completed a two-week placement at the hotel before he was taken on to do flambés at diners’ tables and advise them on fine wines to accompany their food.
