Stephen’s tile shop dream

Have your say

A Heanor businessman has opened a new tile showroom in Langley Mill.

Stephen Burns unveiled the Mill Tile Studio, on Cromford Road, on Monday – the first unit to be launched in the newly-revamped Co-operative building.

Stephen became a self-employed tiler in 2006, aged 23, and says his decision to enter the world of retail is one he relishes.

He said: “This is a new challenge for me and having been in the industry for years I felt I can provide my customers with an unbeatable service.

“Having personally tiled hundreds of projects I know exactly which materials to recommend and also which tiles work well.

“Having grown up in the area it’s important that I try to develop a successful, thriving business for future generations.

“My family ethic is at the heart of this business and they are all digging in and getting involved!”

The firm has a large selection of ceramic, porcelain, glass, natural stone and mosaics to meet all tastes and budgets.

Stephen added: “If there is a particular tile that you have in mind and we haven’t got it on display, just let us know and we will do our utmost to source it for you. We also stock everything to complete you project, from tile adhesives, grouts and backer-boards, to finishing products like silicone and edging trims.

“There is something for every budget; including the important items such as fixing materials, plus luxury extras like under floor heating systems.” Stephen is on hand to offer expert advice in a no-pressure environment and says he is happy to discuss your ideas over a cuppa! Tile fixing and installation is also available on request.
