With nearly 250 years’ service between them, seven trent barton employees have joined the firm’s ‘35+ Club’.
The group of employees, which includes drivers, managers and an electrician were recently presented with awards to mark 35 years’ service with the Langley Mill bus firm.
Alex Hornby, trent barton Commercial Director, explained: “We really are a close-knit team, and many staff have been with us for several decades.
“Customers often comment that our drivers have become their friends, they’ve known them for so long on the same route.”
A major reason for such staff loyalty is the opportunities for career progression. The company, which employs around 1,000 people, has seen many employees work their way up to management positions.
“In fact the latest group to receive a long service award is drawn from across all areas of the business and includes drivers, managers and an electrician,” Alex said.
After receiving his award, Health, Safety and Facilities Officer, Richard Woods, commented: “Working for trent barton really is like being part of a big family and I’ve really enjoyed my career here so far.”
