A REPORT by retail guru Mary Portas on ways to regenerate the high street could be good news for Heanor, according to the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire Chamber of Commerce.
The Mary Queen of Shops star released The Portas Review on Tuesday. It sets out her vision to breath life back into the English high street.
Part of the document proposes a reform for the way market places are managed and sets out plans for free parking in town centres.
Chamber chairman George Cowcher, currently heading the help for Heanor high street campaign, said: “Mary Portas has announced some extremely simple but effective measures as part of her High Street review, which if adopted, could make a real difference to regenerating our deserted town centres.”
