Heanor Market set for a revamp as plans are approved

A BUSINESS plan to take over the running of Heanor market place was announced at a succesful second public meeting to revive the town’s high street.

Around more than 40 townsfolk filled St Lawrence Church to field questions to a panel of representatives from Amber Valley Borough Council, Heanor Development trust, Heanor Traders’ Association and The News on Monday night.

Applause was heard when traders’ association chairman Simon Minto announced the group are to take over managing the market ‘within the next couple of months’, after Amber Valley Borough Council approved its business plan this week.
