Workers at the Wimsey Way-based Thornton’s headquarters were given penny saving tips by a Derbyshire County Council team of officers as part of the Love Food Hate Waste road show touring Derbyshire
Demonstrations showed staff how to compost at home and how to save up to £50 a month on shopping bills by planning meals ahead. Amber Valley Borough Council was also there to explain its kerbside recycling collections to staff too.
Cabinet member for technology and recycling at the county council, Cllr John Allsop , said staff were “really interested in what they had to say.”
