An Alfreton firm has been recognised for its outstanding service to the disabled vehicle adaptions market.
Autochair, of Wood Street, North, has been awarded the Motability’s Adaption’s Supplier of the Year.
Graham Farrant, from Motability, said: “The Motability Supplier Awards are designed to recognise the people and businesses that deliver the outstanding choice, excellence and customer satisfaction that Motability is renowned for as well as ensuring costs remain as affordable as possible.
“Autochair has demonstrated rapid business growth in the last 12 months, whilst keeping prices competitive and customer service to a high standard.
“Covering most of the UK, the business has also delivered innovative designs and proactive marketing alongside a caring approach to its customers in order to secure a win at the Motability Supplier Awards.”
Following an accident in 1975 which left founder and chairman, David Walker, in a wheelchair, the first Autochair was born in 1979. In 2005, David relinquished his role as managing director for his son, Matthew. He said: “We have never lost sight of the fact that we are a family firm with strong roots in Derbyshire.”
