Deb staff raise charity cash

Workers at Denby firm Deb Ltd have been doing their bit for charity.

Staff there took part in Friday’s World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and raised more than £400 to support the work of Macmillan Cancer Support.

Employees paid to dress down for the day and those keen to demonstrate their passion for baking took part in a ‘Bake Off’ event, with the deserved winner being Sarah Birkett with her Victoria sponge. Chocolate cakes, cupcakes and a lemon drizzle offering were among those then available to buy in the Deb Coffee Shop, said a spokesman for the firm.

Pictured is a bespoke cake created and donated by Caroline Clarke, which was auctioned.

Deb is famous for making the industrial hand cleaner Swarfega.
