An award winning restaurateur duo and a top chef have taken over the running of a Heanor curry house.

Ali Ahmed and Mohammed Ali of Birmingham, whose previous businesses have won gongs including Shropshire cuisine of the year, are the new owners of the Bay Leaf on Market Street alongside award winning Balti chef Mohammed Ahmed. Ali Ahmed said: “We have had a new menu, a new refit and we are going to have lots of special offers on. The food we are introducing is new to Heanor.We will be mixing Eastern and Western spices to come up with something really new.” The Bay Leaf is offering a five course special offer for Valentine’s Day at £14.95.
