Alfreton church to hold big January sale

People in the Alfreton area are being invited to donate their unwanted Christmas presents – to help boost the funds of a giant January sale.

The sale, on Saturday, January 28, is the latest fundraiser by Alfreton Wesley Church in Ellesmere Avenue and organisers are appealing for items to sell.

A wide selection of goods will be on sale, ranging from fancy goods, household items, toys, books and toiletries to clothing, furniture, cakes, china, glassware and bric-a-brac.

Items for sale can be taken to the church the previous evening, Friday January 27, between 6pm and 7pm, and the sale will take place between 10am and 12 noon. They can also be collected where possible by ringing David Hopkinson on 01773 833627. Proceeds from the effort will be for church funds.

The church celebrates its 29th anniversary the following weekend, with a Saturday evening concert by Stonebroom Male Voice Choir on February 4 and special services on Sunday, February 5.
