Expect plenty of festive fun and fundraising at a bumper charity Christmas market in Ripley.
It will take place at Ripley Leisure Centre on Sunday December 4, between 2pm and 5pm, and feature over 30 craft stalls, selling a huge variety of items from pebble pictures and tea sets to wreaths and hand models.
The family-friendly event will include something for everyone including a raffle with over 30 prizes up for grabs, plus face painting, hook-a-duck and a special visit from Santa Claus for the children.
Visitors will also get the chance to meet characters from Spiderman and the hit Disney show Frozen, as well as rub shoulders with a full-size Dalek.
Talented members of Starstruck Music Academy will also be performing a specially-written Christmas song.
The event has been organised by staff at Argos in Heanor and is part of a drive to raise £10,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support. So far the appeal has raised over £8,000.
Ian Sharpe, one of the fundraisers, said: “We hope to get as many people into the venue over the three hours to hopefully raise the £1,500 we need to hit our £10,000 target.”
Admission is £1 for adults and free for under-16s.
