Tenants in Amber Valley were given the chance to shape the services they receive from their housing provider.

More than 60 residents had their say at Futures Homescape’s Tenant Conference on Thursday, October 31, at Twycross Zoo.

Futures says the event was about collecting views from its tenants about its services – as well as having a bit of fun.

Throughout the day, the adults took part in a number of speed-dating-style workshops covering issues affecting them, such as universal credit, independent living, volunteer opportunities, repairs and customer access.

And young people were also kept busy by a range of activities including a tour of the zoo, a visit to pet’s corner, face painting and arts and crafts.

Sarah Whattam, community development manager at Futures Homescape, said: “Understanding how our tenants perceive our services and what improvements they think can be made is an integral part of our approach. It is vital to us that our services incorporate what our tenants tell us.”
