A giant bra adorned the front of the Beehive pub in Ripley on bank holiday Sunday as hundreds packed in to the Peasehill pub to raise money for Breast Cancer Care.

Landlord and Landlady Steve and Lisa Cresswell and patrons Dick and Julie Johnson, organised the event which saw a five-a-side skittle match, face painting and a barbecue, raising £756. The pub was decorated with one particularly large garment, made from 379 bras by Von Morley, of Selston. All the guests- including Jamie Rose and Nick Brown here – had to adhere to a strict dress code. Organiser Julie, 54, of Lathkill Drive, Marehay, said: “Even the men took part and wore bras and had a really great time!”
