STUDENTS from Aldercar Community Language College have been showing off their knowledge of children’s literature.

Youngsters in Years 7, 8 and 9 at the Daltons Close college, in Langley Mill, took part in the fifth Derbyshire Literature Challenge, held at County Hall, Matlock.

The students answered ten rounds of questions based upon popular books and came tenth out of 26 competing teams. The team showed off their knowledge in different rounds, including poetry and fairy tales.

Caroline Winsor, reading club co-ordinator at the college, said: “Well done and many congratulations to the team.”

upils received certificates to mark their achievement.
