A HEANOR youngster is on his way to becoming a martial arts expert after claiming his Tae Kwon-do black belt – aged just ten.
Kyle Harwood, of Prospect Road, attends lessons at Mundy Junior School in Heanor every Tuesday night and twice a week at venues in Ilkeston with the Derbyshire Dragons. And the impressive feat was achieved through two years of hard work on the mat, according to his teacher Richard Dakin.
Richard said: “He has put so much work into it bless him, he puts in as many training sessions as he can. He’s a good lad and really trains and concentrates – he really goes for it.”
Richard even thinks star pupil Kyle could well be an Olympian one day.
