A BELPER design firm has picked up an award from Dragon’s Den star Theo Paphitis after winning a social media competition.
Graphic Results, based on Bridge Street, picked up the award at the #SBS Winners Party at Warwickshire County Cricket Club, Edgbaston Stadium on March 30.
Dragon Mr Paphitis runs the awards through the social network Twitter, inviting small firms every Sunday to tweet him at @TheoPaphitis, using the hashtag #sbs, with brief details about their company.
Mike Handley, director of Graphic Results, made the Dragon aware of his blog, which bemoaned the lack of investment in small British business and promoted the use of Twitter for businesses.
Mr Handley said: “It is so important that business embrace change, we now generate lots of new business each week via social media sites such as Twitter and it’s such a great result for us to have been picked by such a great business man.”
They won a certificate and a seal of approval from Mr Paphitis who says he personally looks through all the tweets and chooses his six favourite entries and then re-tweets them to his 234,000 followers – including fellow Dragons Duncan Bannatyne, James Caan, Deborah Meaden, Hilary Devey and Peter Jones.
