PUPILS and parents rolled up their sleeves at Crich Junior School for a family bake-off to celebrate a prestigious award.

The school has achieved the Food for Life Partnership Gold award — one of only 17 schools to do so in the country — for creating a healthy, sustainable and enjoyable food culture. Pupils and parents teamed up to create cakes which will be sold off in aid of Sport Relief. Judge Andrew Auld, of Crich bakery The Loaf, said: “It’s important children understand where good food comes from and how it is made.”
