TWO former students from Aldecar Community Language College are celebrating their success as apprentices.
Luke Cottrell and Tom Syson, both from Ripley, are the first two apprentices to complete an advanced training programme at an in-house training academy run by Moorgreen-based structural steelwork company Caunton Engineering.
The pair attained a Level 3 in engineering and welding by training at Caunton and attending Aldecar College on day release.
Spokeswoman Jackie Swinn said: “This is the culmination of the national Advanced Apprenticeship Programme.
“These two young men are the first to have achieved this through training in Caunton’s fully accredited academy.
“They should be very proud of their hard work and achievement. Luke has now joined the blue line full time and Tom is with the red line.”
The academy was founded in 2004.
The company is presently working on an 800,000sq ft warehouse in Swindon for B&Q.
