Plot holders of Roper Avenue Allotments are to hold an open day and barbecue fundraiser on Sunday, for the charity NORSACA.
The Heanor allotments is to play host to a range of activities from 11am including children’s games, face painting, a plant and produce stall, craft stall, table top sale and cake stall alongside refreshments and a raffle.
There is also to be a scarecrow competition that is open to all.
Half of all the money raised will go to NORSACA, which works to support children and adults with autism.
Chairman of Roper Avenue allotments Richard Iliffe said: “We’re all looking forward to the fundraiser, especially as the money we aim to raise will go to such a worthwhile cause as NORSACA.
“The plot holders will work hard to ensure that every visitor will have an enjoyable time.”
NORSACA runs day services at its local base on Mundy Street, Heanor, as well as providing an outreach service to support people and their families in their own homes. Fundraising and communications manager for the charity Darren Worthy, said: “We’d like to thank everyone involved with Roper Avenue Allotments.”
