Codnor was blessed with a dry day for its annual fete, which was once again organised by the Rotary Club of Amber Valley on Sunday July 1.
President David Hickton and Bernie Bennett, the comedy tightrope walker, opened the fete for an afternoon of fun in the arena.
Frank Seals, a member of the Rotary Club of Amber Valley, said: “The show is geared up for children to enjoy themselves from entering the fun dog show, joining the Codnor Castle Trust in a battle re-enactment, children’s races or to try out their football skills.
“There was lots of entertainment from Bernie Bennett either on his stilts or with his hilarious tightrope walking and the day included a fly-past of a Spitfire from the RAF Memorial Flight.”
The event at Codnor Recreation Ground included a giant slide and bouncy castles as well as several trampolines, a football skills competition and demonstrations from Forest Bowmen Field Archery Club.
The Poet and Castle served drinks all day, the local Scouts ran a burger stand and the Rotary offered a hog roast and a tea tent.
