while snow closed half-term activities for children at Crich’s Tramway Village, the cold snap could not deter enthusiasts at the Midland Railway in Butterley from running trains this week.

The attraction has been using Diesel Multiple units over the winter months.

Development Officer Alan Calladine said: “The Winter Warmer trains are a chance to enjoy the railway at a quieter time of the year.

Meanwhile train buffs will have the chance to see the historic 46233 Duchess of Sutherland outside the West Shed at Swanwick Junction, complete in her new BR Green livery after a major overhaul, on Saturday, March 3, from 10am to 4pm.
