Alfreton fire calls

Fire crews in Alfreton were called out three times on Sunday.

At 5.20am they were called to Preston Avenue, Alfreton, where a garden shed was on fire. Two hose reel jets were used to extinguish the blaze by 5.45am.

At 7am they tackled a burning vehicle on Carter Lane East, South Normanton. Police were informed and the fire was out on 7.15am.

At 10.15pm crews from Alfreton and Clay Cross were called out to the B6039 in Tibshelf where a disabled driver was trapped inside a car after hitting a building. Police and ambulance attended and the driver was freed by 10.45pm.
